No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

Festive celebration of the first day of a New Year is preceded by New Year's eve party. The New Year is often celebrated at private parties, in restaurants or at balls, where according to the tradition of the north, participants take off their masks and welcome the New Year. It is also popular to welcome a new year in the streets and main squares of the cities, e.g. at Times Square in New York. At midnight and with the advent of the New Year, we can see colorful fireworks show and a great luminous sphere, called the Big Apple, which is lowered from the mast. The tradition of lowering the great sphere from the mast was born on 31 December 1907. The 1st January is usually spent among friends and family at festive dinner table often watching a football game.
